At the Human Rights Education Institute it is our mission to celebrate
diversity and human rights by educating, raising awareness and recognizing the
value of all humanity.
Project Description
Kitchen Upgrade and restructure - includes sanding cement floor from removing
carpet that has already been completed. There is glue. Kitchen will become a
teaching space with prep tables and cooking and baking utensils, reorganize
food and clean refrigerator
Reconfigure lobby to include a coffee bar and snack setup, furniture will be
ordered or purchased by HREI or donated
Inventory library books and organize by topic
Inventory exhibit materials and organize in protective tubs by subject matter
Replace kitchen and bathroom sink fixtures to update. We believe there is a
slow leak under kitchen sink
Possibly install kitchen garbage disposal
Replace heater filters
Replace electrical outlet covers that are damaged
Full facility cleaning - window cleaning inside and out, vacuuming, dusting and
cleaning where rodents have been, power washing outside patio and exterior
walls, sweep gallery
Possibly moss removal and check roof gutters before winter
Update patio with winter plants
Gallery lighting update and/or check for burned out bulbs
Touch up paint
Remove large art from storage unit and deliver to new home
Spray exterior for spiders
purge accounting records according to standards
Prepare winter camp bags
fill student packs for counselors
Fill treat bags for trunk or treat
paint patio equipment
put together some new shelving units
pull weeds and use weed killer for invasive weeds
replace outdoor bulbs
Lunch will be provided to Day of Caring Volunteers by the Human Rights Education Institute.
