We are currently looking for a positive male mentor in or near Post Falls, Idaho for a man in his late 30s who genuinely wants to grow and become a better father and partner. This individual grew up without healthy role models and is working hard to break unhealthy patterns from his past. He has been engaged in counseling for several years and is very open to learning from someone who can model patience, respect, and healthy family leadership. He is a hands-on, hardworking person who enjoys: • Working on cars • Computers and electronics • Building and fixing things He works as a welder and also drives for Uber on the side. He would connect especially well with a mentor who enjoys practical projects, mechanical work, or problem-solving together. A mentor with parenting experience would be especially helpful. Experience with autistic children would be a plus, though it is not required. What he needs most is a man who can: • Talk through life and parenting challenges • Model healthy communication  • Offer encouragement and perspective • Spend occasional time together doing hands-on activities Mentorship through Hand in Hand Family Mentorship is supported and guided—we walk alongside our mentors and provide resources along the way. We are seeking volunteers to help prepare Early Learning Kits for families in our community. This hands‑on role includes laminating materials, sorting educational items, and stuffing individual bags with the supplies children need for fun, developmentally supportive learning activities at home. Volunteers should enjoy detail‑oriented tasks and working as part of a team. Your efforts directly support families by providing them with high‑quality tools that promote early learning, parent‑child engagement, and school readiness.

Volunteers will deep clean our Discovery Play Area and Art Studio (used by thousands of kids and their families each year!) Our project could have as few as 5 volunteers and as many as 20 volunteers and is a family friendly volunteer project and there are tasks even little ones can help with. We will have several of our staff or board members to help the Deep Clean effort on this day!  Our staff or board members can direct with the list of cleaning tasks, this is a brief peek:

-Clean floors, mop, vacuum carpets, maybe shampoo the carpet (we will have the carpet shampoo machine if that is on our list) 

-Art studio floor - spray cleaner, let soak and then scraped all the paint off  -Wash paint off counters, sink, and wash the front of the art studio cabinets -Wash all the big windows on inside:  

Play Area: -Wet rag with a little cleaner wash every place in the play area where kids put their hands.

If your group wants to bring cleaning supplies to help, these are some of the needed items (or we can have these cleaning items on hand): 2 Windex, 2 Spray disinfectant cleaner, large package of paper towels, rags to clean with, a few small buckets for soapy water, green scrubby pads and regular sponges, and we have several brooms/mops, but if it's a big volunteer group, a few more brooms, dust pans, mops would help

This is a shared position so flexibility is available for individual schedules.  The managers are responsible to supervise and/or train volunteers in the use of firewood log splitters, proper stacking and covering of processed wood.  Training is available for those who would like to assist in this function.  While this is a basic operation, safety is mandatory as machines are in motion and flammable fuels are utilized.

This schedule is intended to be from 9:00-12:00 (earlier in the summer hot days).  Saturdays over holidays will not be included.

Community-based mentoring relationships involve one-to-one outings and activities, doing things the Big and Little enjoy together. Each match is unique and develops a schedule that works for them. Bigs and Littles spend 2-4 hours, 2-4 times a month with each other for at least 18 months!

We are signing up for 5 volunteers for a half day and we are flexible: morning, afternoon or any number of volunteers 1-5 would be awesome! We use Day of Caring for our annual deep clean. We will have several our staff or board members to help the Deep Clean effort on this day!
Cleaning priority list.
Clean all floor surfaces to the walls
-vacuum play area, including move all kids furniture to vacuum under. -Shampoo the carpet, we will you rent a carpet cleaner for the day

-Vacuum and then wash all the brick floor in hallway (move stools under bar and tiny table/log bench etc. along hallways to clean the floor along the walls)
-Vacuum and then wash the floor in the community area with lending library. Pull all the furniture to one side (don't block the bridge hallway) to clean and then pull it all to the other side to vacuum and wash under everything and along the edges
-Art studio floor - clean all the way to the edges, vacuum and wash, In the past we have sprayed cleaner, let soak and then scraped all the paint off
-Wash all the big windows on inside. Also wash the windows of the toy store on the hallway side of window

-Wash paint off counters, sink, and wash the front of the art studio cabinets
Play Area:
-Wet rag with a little cleaner wash every place in the play area where kids put their hands. For example the yellow bus can get very grungy -Wash bar where parents can sit

Community volunteers help OEM support emergency and disaster response in our county.  They help educate our community about preparedness at tabling events, serve as role players in drills and exercises, provide emergency communications (ham radio volunteers), support the CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) program in Kootenai County and more!

Members assist in various areas throughout the hospital, providing those special “extras” that make a meaningful difference in the lives of our patients and hospital team.
