Bridge Haven

Who We Are

The mission of Bridge Haven is to end the threat of homelessness—one person, one family, and one life at a time.

At Bridge Haven, we believe that everyone deserves a safe place to call home and the opportunity to build a stable future. Our mission is to provide individuals and families facing homelessness, domestic violence, trafficking, and other life crises with access to safe housing, compassionate support, and critical resources that promote long-term stability and self-sufficiency.

Our work extends beyond providing shelter. Through comprehensive case management, life-skills development, employment support, and community connections, we walk alongside each person on their journey toward independence, empowering them with the tools, confidence, and support needed to rebuild their lives.

Founded in 1991 as Bonner Homeless Transitions, Bridge Haven has served families throughout Bonner County for more than three decades. We operate transitional housing programs that provide safe, stable housing for up to two years, coupled with individualized support services designed to help residents achieve lasting housing security and personal success.

Every day, Bridge Haven helps transform lives by creating pathways from crisis to stability, from uncertainty to hope, and from homelessness to home.

What We Do

At Bridge Haven, we provide far more than a roof over someone's head—we provide a pathway to lasting stability. We walk alongside each resident as they navigate the challenges that led to homelessness, offering comprehensive support that includes childcare assistance, employment services and training, counseling, life-skills development, and accountability measures, all coordinated through dedicated and compassionate case management. No one has to face their journey alone. Today, 63 women, men, and children are finding safety, stability, and renewed hope through our program. Yet many more individuals and families in our community remain on waiting lists, hoping for the opportunity to begin their own path toward self-sufficiency. As the only homeless recovery and transitional housing program in Bonner County—a region where housing costs continue to rise while household incomes remain comparatively low—the need for our services is significant and growing. We are committed to expanding our capacity to meet this increasing demand and ensure that more families have access to safe housing and supportive services. The consequences of homelessness extend far beyond the loss of housing. Without access to stable shelter, support, and education, individuals and families face serious challenges, including declining physical and mental health, barriers to employment, and increased financial instability. Children are particularly vulnerable, often experiencing disruptions in education, emotional trauma, and developmental setbacks that can have lifelong effects. In the most severe situations, homelessness can lead to family separation and the loss of critical support systems. This is why the work of Bridge Haven is so vital. By providing housing, comprehensive support services, and opportunities for personal growth, we help families remain together, rebuild their lives, and create a foundation for long-term success. With the support of our community, we can continue to offer not just shelter, but hope, healing, and the opportunity for every individual and family to thrive.
